According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, about five miles east of Tuscaloosa. Preliminary reports indicate that an SUV carrying four occupants veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation before striking a tree.
